As a Harley Davidson enthusiast, my dream is to ride my motorbike in as many Caribbean islands as possible. First on my bucket list was: San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then Fort-de-France, Martinique. The reasons behind my first two choices were simple: In Puerto Rico, I could easily use my U.S. Drivers License or meet the island’s regulatory standards to legally drive a motorcycle in that country. The second reason may sound trivial to some but nonetheless important to me: the availability of public bathrooms.

The endeavor of riding a Harley-Davidson in different Caribbean countries is definitely doable. I am fortunate to have a good understanding of logistics and international shipping. Therefore, you should be privy to the information that my Harley-Davidson Fatboy is usually kept in Public Storage near a main port in the United States.  Now, all I need to do is putting my motorbike in a wooden crate, haul it to a shipping company nearby that will be entrusted to ship it at an affordable fee to a port of my choice.

The third Caribbean country on my list is Jamaica. Jamaica not only met one of the two criteria cited at the beginning of this Blog post but having access to a vacation home in Hopewell in the Hanover Parish makes that country a very attractive prospect. Moreover, other Harley-Davidson enthusiasts in Montego Bay have personally contacted me. Do keep in mind that the fulfillment of my endeavor depends on how many Caribbean countries where I get to to ride my Harley-Davidson Fatboy.  I pick an island based on two things: It has a Harley-Davidson Enthusiasts Club; And more than enough public restrooms for travelers.

The grand finale of my dream or this “once in a life time” adventure should entail shipping my motorbike to Puerto Limon in Costa Rica’s Southern Caribbean Coast. In that country, I have a few friends dated back from my early teen in New York that moved there because of the Hospitality and Tourism industry. The quality of life in that country and what the locals refer to as “Pura Vida” was the impetus behind their choice to making Costa Rica their permanent home.

Thank you for taking the time to read this Blog post. I look forward to getting your input. Thus, if you know of any Harley-Davidson Enthusiasts Club, Harley-Davidson Owners Association in the Caribbean or if you are interested in shipping a motorcycle or an ATV from Washington, DC, Linden, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, and Boca Raton, Florida to a port in the Caribbean, call me, Carl at CentEx Cargo & Logistics, toll-free, 1-877-464-7152
